So Much to Catch Up On

So it's been too long since my last entry. First off--HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I hope 2005 was a year to remember for all of you!

My 2005 was nice:

Jan-May Gabey in On The Town in London at the English Nat'l Opera; my buddy Tim Howar who played Ozzie is actually here in NYC now rehearsing Roger in RENT on Bway so everyone go check him out at the end of the month...he is fierce!

June In L.A. recording the lead role of Adam/Silva on the new MASADA cast album featuring the Jerusalem Philharmonic Orchestra. For any of you wondering about this project, the latest is that the album will be released via direct marketing (alla JCSuperstar back in the 70's) in early 2006. Concert version in London....? Also stars my good friend Jenny Powers.

August-TBD Fabrizio in TLITP. We're extended through July and rumors are flying about extending through September. By then, LCT has a new show coming in so if we're still selling well, we'd have to move to another venue?! I can't picture Piazza in another theater. Anyway, a lot can happen between now and then: we could lose cast members, our ticket sales could dip or take off?, I might even be eligible to be nominated for the new Tony award for best replacement :) Who knows? Through July our cast is as is and we're selling well so far. Rumors are also flying about a sit-down national tour in early Fall...

Plans for '06:
I'm aiming even higher! 1) Test for at least 1 pilot 2)shoot an episodic 3)shoot a role in film (indie or feature) 4) get nominated for the Tony 5) Continue work on my debut album (I'm meeting with a former record exec. next week who I hope will help me get this off the ground.) 6) Get ready for life after Piazza (LA here we come).

I'm looking forward to you guys writing me with your plans for 2006! Need new headshots? Looking for an agent, a voice teacher, an acting class/coach? Hoping to add extra income with a day job? Graduating from universiry and moving to NYC? Let me know and I'll help in anyway I can.

Lastly, my apologies to anyone who was hoping to catch me in Piazza this past Xmas weekend. I got spent Friday in the hospital with food poisoning. Thankfully after 24hrs. the symptoms subsided and I was able to make it through a full 8 shows this week. So I'm back.

Footnote: Katie is settling in as Clara and is wonderful. If you haven't seen her in the role, you should!

I just wanted to say that I saw LITP for the first time on tuesday (I was in the big group that came out and met you, Katie and Victoria at the stage door), and it was a wonderful show and your performance was amazing. Simply put, thank you so much for an amazing experience and being so passionate about what you do.

"I could be nominated for the new Tony Award for best replacement actor"
It's upsetting that this is on your mind. Oh well.

sydelle,
sorry you find this upsetting. I meant nothing by it other than to express my excitement over the possibility.

Of course, I understand. I only meant that I'd hate to think of you being bitterly disappointed if by some chance you don't get the nod. But I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

I had the pleasure of seeing you on wednesday the 28th, and let me just say that if you don't get that tony nod (at least), I will cry. You were absolutely outstanding! Everything about your performance was perfection and my parents agreed with me when I said that you were definitely the highlight of the show. I met you at the stage door afterwards and you were the sweetest person. Thank you so much for not only making the show such an amazing experience, but for just being an amazing man in general. All the best!

You are such an inspiration to see on stage! My friends and I will be at the Thurs. night show this week. I hope your in!

As for 2006- I just finished touring Europe for the last year in a musical and now I'm settling in to the New York scene. I really need to find an agent who will take a personal interest in me. The one I'm with now is kind of a mess! Also I need to get into better shape! Being on tour got me pretty lazy so it's time I finally learned how to lift weights and get my a** in gear.

It's nice to know that there are cool talented people who have actually made it in this city! You rock!

Michael

Do you know of any good voice teachers in the morris county area? And if not, what's the best way of finding the best teacher for me? I don't want to train with just anyone, if that makes sense.

BTW-I really, *really* hope you get a Tony nod this summer, because you more than well deserve it. And that's great news about a LITP tour!

Hi Aaron,

I saw you in Piazza when I was visting NYC in October and you were wonderful! Before I went, I was a little disappointed that I wasn't going to be able to see Matt Morrison, but you completely exceeded my expectations! It was really a great performance, and very refreshing to get to see someone new. Congratulations on your success! Anyways, random LITP connection! My high school is doing "The Cradle Will Rock" and I just got cast as Mrs. Mister, who in the movie was played by Victoria Clark! I'm especially looking forward to this part now...yay :-D

Michael,
hope you dug the show. As for everything else: what show did you do in Europe (so great!), how old are you? what voice type are you? etc; I can give you a list of a bunch of agencies you should submit to once i know more about you.

Jamie,

I don't know any voice teachers in Morris County per se, but I do know of a great voice teacher in North Jersey (i just have to find out where he is specifically). I'll get you his name...otherwise, I'd recommend looking into the faculty of any colleges in your area. Many college voice teachers also teach on the side.

Thanks for responding Aaron! You were awesome last night BTW. My roomates and I loved you and the show. We stood up as soon as those lights went down. Watching you and Victoria work is like taking a master class or something! Anyway The show I toured Europe with was HAIR and I did that for about a year. I'm 26 and a tenor with a belt to a C and a pretty high falsetto (I played Margarert Mead in HAIR which is like the "Mary Sunshine" role) If you have the time and can reccomend any agents for me that would be excellent! I feel like I'm just getting lost in the crowd with my agent! I don't know if I'm supossed to do this or not but my email is michael_parillo@yahoo.com if you want to email me directly. Thanks again for taking the time!

Everytime I hear about Piazza ending I get a little tearie eyed. You guys are truly amazing! If you would, please pass this on to all the other cast members for me when you get the chance! You've touched a lot of people! I really hope I can see it one more time before it closes (if only they'd make it a movie! :P)! Woo for Piazza's Tony too :D
