re: Thank You Late Night Fans

Left the theater tonight very late--about 11:30pm, following a talk back with a college buddy of mine and some of his colleagues, and a 1/2 hour of me sitting in my dressing room trying to put down in words what it's like feeling this show coming to an end. More on that later.

But I walk out the stage door and there are 4 lovely fans still waiting for an autograph and photos. So Allison (did i spell it right?), Christine, Joshua from Florida, and your friend from upstate NY whose name I never got--THANK YOU. I'm so very touched that you were so touched by our show and my work that you waited an hour for me. And Allison and Christine--thank your Union City school teacher moms (?) who were so kind enough to wait in the car while you waited all that time, to get you home safely.

Hi Aaron! What a nice post! I can certainly understand those fans wanting to wait for you-your acting as well as everyone else's in the cast is explemplary! The entire audience can feel" the joy you feel"(to coin a phrase!) as well as the anguish felt during the play. The whole production is full of such true emotions, that it's no wonder that everyone feels like they know you(and the rest of the cast)because they do; since there is such truth in the acting. I was fortunate enough to see it both on PBS as well as last Sunday in person. Bravo to all for their work and for everyone letting the rest of us enjoy your talents, and well as what neat people you are!!

My friend (joseph siravo's daughter)kept raving out the show so I thought if I would try to catch some of it on PBS. I ended up watching the entire thing, absolutely glued to the tv. I loved it so much I bugged my friends for almost two weeks and dragged them to see the show Friday. The best part was looking over at my best friend when you sing for the first time and seeing her jaw fall open and her eyes get enormous. The show was absolutely fantastic, as I knew it was going to be. I'm so glad I got to see it before it closes and only wish I had known about it early so I could have seen it a few more times. As a musical theater person I have to say you are honestly one of the most talented and polished performers I've seen. Keep up the good work. I cannot wait to see your next production. =D

Dear Aaron,

I would like to thank you for your wonderful performance as Fabrizio in "The Light..". Prior to Live from Lincoln Center I had yet to hear of you. I follow several performers in their careers, as I have several performer friends in New York. I've done several shows at TUTS in Houston, Tx. I just recently downloaded Masada and was taken by your amazing performance. I've been studying theatre, music, and musical theatre my entire life and I found you to be a new inspiration. I will be attending the Weitzenhoffer School of Musical Theatre at OU. As a performer, I love hearing from spectators, so I just wanted to tell you that I loved your performances. I performed with Gary Beach in Houston when I was young and saw that you will be Enjolras in the revival of Les Mis with him. Congratulations! I'm sharing your talent with my friends and family down here. I'm leaving my email and name, and I would love to correspond with you through email. There is no better way to prepare for the performer's life than talking with one who is living it. Thank you so much sir!

Dear Aaron,

I would love to thank you for your wonderful performance as Fabrizio. I must admit that I was unaware of you until Live From Lincoln Center was aired on PBS. Since then, I have found your performances to be very inspirational. I recently downloaded Masada and was taken by your performance. I have been studying musical theatre my entire life. I have done over 40 productions in educational, regional, and community theatre. I started here in Houston, TX at Theatre Under The Stars. Having worked with several NY performers, I love gaining knowledge from them and speaking to them about their experiences. There is no better way to prepare for a performer's life, than to learn from those who've lived it. I will be attending the Weitzenhoffer School of Musical Theatre at OU this fall to continue my training and improve my performance ability. I would also like to congratulate you on your casting as Enjolras in the new revival of Les Mis. I worked with Gary Beach when I was younger, he's a great guy! If it isn't too much trouble I would love to correspond with you through email if possible. As a performer I love hearing spectators, and I am a spectator, saying that I have found you to be an inspiration. I will be sharing your talent with my peers. I do hope to hear from you.

Sincerely,
Harry Perrin

My dear Aaron Lazar: I want you to know that this St. Louis voice teacher is one of your BIGGEST fans! It is almost as if you are my personal discovery, a real treasure that I have been leading lots of other people---my students, and professional colleagues---to discover as well! I haven't stopped talking about your performance in "Light." You embody everything I teach(technically, and artistically), and want for my students...and their success. (You have already sung with one of my students, Katy Grenfell, and might know some of my other Broadway students! There are two photos of Katy with you on your website!! The photos are of the Broadway understudy stars.)

I hope you take what I say next as one of the greatest compliments I can ever pay you: you very well might be the up and coming young American Anthony Warlow. I admire him so very, very much. He can do ANYTHING, and I believe that statement will become true of you!

I have enjoyed reading your "blog." You come across as a very kind, down to earth young man, and I hope that essential goodness in you never, ever changes. I met Chris Sarandon the day after I saw "Light" for the first time at the end of March, this year (2006). Among the things he said about you, was that "you were a sweetheart," and after reading your "blog," and seeing the show again, I believe it.

I wish you all the best, always. I am sending a hug to you from so far away!! Sheila Dugan
