Welcome Lea!
So a bunch of people have been asking me what it's like having Lea Salonga as part of the cast. To put it simply: She's awesome!
While she was in rehearsals at a studio during the day, she'd swing by to watch the show backstage at night, creating a buzzing energy around the theater.
And her first performance last weekend was MAGIC. There was an excitement and vitality to the show and the company that we had lost a lot of throughout the dulldrums of winter.
I was out sick all this week with the flu, but I went back Friday night and that buzz still seems to be there. Les Miz is a show that works fine without the buzz, but with the added energy and vitality--it works on a much higher level. Come see us and Lea--she's truly a FANTASTIC Fantine!

I'm so excited to see Lea andy you on the same stage... I'm going to the matinee tomorrow and I'm hyperventilating. According to my calculations, I'll be watching Lea perform "I Dreamed A Dream" at this time tomorrow. :) At first, I was afraid they only cast Lea to encourage ticket sales, but then I saw the Broadway.com video and I was in shock.
One comment Lea made was about reading the book. Did the directors require you guys to all read the book? I remember what you said in the tour of the Broadhurst clip about Celia giving you the book... From all of the youtube clips I've seen, you guys all are using the book in your character interpretations, which is just fantastic.
OMG I can't wait till I see you all! I'm going to get a bit fangirly, but I'm so excited right now!
Lea looks like she make a FANTASTIC Fantine! I was just wondering, do you know or have heard if the cast will be making a recording? I hope you guys do make a recording because this Les Miserables Revival cast is awsome!
My parents just recieved conformation of tickets to go see Les Miz over spring break! I'm terribly excited! I've heard such great things about this cast, and from the Broadway.com video, Lea Salonga seems to be just amazing!
Well, with Lea, Celia and you sharing the stage I must go to see Les Miz for a fifth time... yay!
i will surely see you and lea salonga. if you guys will not record a new revival cast album, maybe you can record your own album and have a duet with lea salonga, hows that?
I am glad to hear she is doing so well. I am trying to get out to NY again this June to see the show (again!)I think I just need to relocate to New York, San Francisco is to far away.
All the Best,
Meghann
Saw the show last Saturday. But it was lacking one thing. Oh yeah, you. : )
You're right, you can feel the energy of the cast. The excitement and all. There was a big difference with the show since I saw it last January and last week. Lea is truly amazing. Her facial expressions and her voice is just magnificent. Makes me proud to call her one of our own. To have this lady who I listened to since I was six create all this buzz.
Hopefully I'll see you on the 31st.

Tell me you will all be in this cast until the end of the run!
I was in the audience on one of those sleet, snow, ick days where the house was half empty. This was one of the best Les Mis casts I've ever seen.
Unfortunately, we missed Lea by something like 4 days.
We have tickets 6 rows from the stage for August 10 and we're hoping there are very few cast changes before that time.
I hope you all realize and can feel just a little bit of the magic you are giving to the audience.
Blessings,
Lori
I am definitely looking forward to seeing the Broadway production for the fifth time. :) It's really an excellent cast for this wonderful show, and it still gives me chills each time I see it. Sorry to hear about the flu, but I'm glad you're better now. Hope to see you if I come up tomorrow.
