Drama Desks

What a great night we had at the Drama Desks on Sunday. I took my stunning wife LeAnn and my brother Chad first to the Russian Tea Room and then on to the Awards Ceremony.

Check out photos at: http://broadwayworld.com/viewcolumn.cfm?colid=18541

It was crazy sitting as a nominee amongst fellow nominees like Kevin Spacey, Liev Schreiber and Martha Plimpton. I'm just sad I didn't win b/c I never got the chance to get up there on stage and start my speech by turning to announcer Joey Lawrence and going "WHOA!". Even though I didn't win, it was surely a WHOA night that I'll never forget. With any luck, it was the first of many awards ceremonies to come.

First off, your wife is gorgeous! Prettier than my girlfriend for sure.

Disappointed you didn't win, but at least you can say you had a Drama Desk nomination, and of course there will be plenty more to come.

Can I please just mention for those of us watching at home through theatremania.com that during intermission/break we could hear the FUNNIEST conversation between some guy and a lady...I thought at first it was part of the show but it wasn't...
Kristin Chenoweth is so funny.
There was a very nice Les Mis performance though :-) I enjoyed that.

Overall it was long I'm sure - it was long watching it through the computer. But you all looked so happy!

I was so sad that you didn't win the Drama Desk award; you honestly deserved it, in my opinion. But you'll be nominated again some day for something, I'm sure of it :)

Also eagerly awaiting the outcome of the Audience Awards. I have encouraged aaaall of my friends to vote for you. Who cares about American Idol when you can anticipate THAT?

It's sad, I've been so disappointed with so many of the theatre awards this year. I almost don't want to watch the Tonies because some of the best shows didn't get a single nomination *coughPirateQueencoughcough*

hey Aaron...of course you deserved the award, but I'm biased. Let me know how your summer singing engagements go and when you might be around...see you soon, I hope. :) -Jay
